I always thought of myself as calm and easy-going. Then a close friend mentioned, gently, that I tend to cut people off when I'm excited about an idea. I genuinely had no idea, and it took a while to sit with. It made me think about how much of our self-image is built from the inside, and how different the view can be from the outside. Has there been a moment when you realised others saw you differently from how you see yourself? How did you find out, and what did you do with it? Positive surprises count too. Sometimes people see strengths in us that we completely overlook.
